About Beefy Built
I have the ability to see a finished project before it even starts. I can see what needs to be done to finish the project to meet your goals - the first time — to last a lifetime.
I grew up watching my step-father doing all the handywork around the home and invited me to learn. This easily grew into a passion! I took carpentry and cabinetry courses at Sussex Tech High School and from there I was hired by Boardwalk Builders. I worked for Patty McDaniel for nearly 12 years. She instilled a drive and integrity to this work that I carry with me to this day — I still hold myself to her standards. I worked for her while also serving in the DE Army National Guard. I was trained as a Carpenter /Mason and served in the 249th Engineer - Utilities Detachment. I used many of these skills while serving in Iraq in 2003-2004.
I worked for other companies in carpentry positions and built a fantastic foundation for Beefy Built. During that time I unfortunately saw many corners cut, “enough” not being enough, and safety issued not being addressed. I would see the lifespan of a project fade quicker than it should because it was not always done properly. Working for others was not satisfying because I wanted to grow beyond being a Foreman. As a woman in this industry I was often looked over and not taken seriously despite my skills that excelled many other workers.
I set myself apart from others in the industry and make things that are built to last - they are BEEFY BUILT. I opened Beefy Built in 2015. It’s my pleasure serving DE residents in a new way that provides a different level of safety as I bring their creations to life - for a lifetime.
